It was always satire.
The rebel and the romantic and the buffoon.
Now blend in and smile.
Fade from a distance.
The pen is out of ink.

The worst thing a human can have is a long memory.  Yesterday is gone.  Let today write her own story.  Always.

Her Name Was Mary

Her name was Mary
But they called her Blue
She was the saddest little baby I ever knew
Her daddy run away when she was two
Awe, her name was Mary but they called her Blue

She grew up a lookin' right
And all the boys would come around at night
Call out her name and try to change her will
But she only had eyes for Bill

Awe, she only had eyes for Bill

Billy was the no good son of a no good son
Drinking whiskey and shooting guns
He only saw a woman as a thing to do
Her name was Mary but they called her Blue

Awe, her name was Mary but they called her Blue

Mary had them starry eyes
And Billy was good at telling lies
He said "Mary, I am so in love with you"
She said "Billy you can do what you wanna do"

Awe, Billy did what he wanted to...

She rode in to town one day
Caught Billy talking up Elsie Kay
She said "Billy, I thought you should know, you've got s baby child on the way"

Billy just laughed and said "that's ok"

Elsie said "Billy, what you gonna do?"
Billy said "Her name was Mary, but they called her Blue"

Awe her name is Mary but they call her Blue

So Mary took her life and their unborn daughter
With a bottle full of pills and a glass of water

They said she should've been someone some one adored
But they don't call her Blue no more

Awe, they don't call her Blue no more

Well her name was Mary but they called her Blue
She was the saddest little baby I ever knew
Her Daddy run away when she was two

Awe, her name was Mary but they called her Blue

Her name was Mary but they called her Blue

My Heart Doesn't Matter

You know I've been thinking it over
And I have thought it through
You're no good for me
And I ain't no good for you

Sometimes you get lonesome
Say you want to try it all again
Say we should start it over
Because we could be such good friends

Well I ain't gone be placing
No kind of blame
But I can't do that anymore
It's just time to end that game

It's just time to end that game

But I think I've got the answer
If it's emotion that keeps us so far apart
Just wrap your legs around my head
And I won't care what you do with my heart

Just wrap your legs around my head
Pull my hair and scream my name
If you're down then I am up
For that kind of game

If it's emotion that keeps us so far apart
Just wrap your legs around my head
And I won't care what you do to my heart

I don't care what you do with my heart

Way back then
So long ago
You were the best friend
I will ever know

But that's gone
It's been gone for so long
There's no use to keep trying
There ain't no use in the hurt
No more reason to keep crying

But I know something we can do
If you're willing and have the time
Just wrap your legs around my head
And I don't care what you do with my mind

Just call my name
And love me through the night
In the morning you can stay or you can go
You don't have to love me in broad daylight

Forever ain't nothing
And never is gone
There's some truth and there's some fiction
In every word of every song
Anymore, it don't matter, who done anybody wrong

I will always love you
But we have grown too far apart
But if you wrap you're legs around my head
I won't care what you do with my heart

I don't care what you do with my heart

A Light In The Darkness

Like a midnight shooting star
Blazing with a whisper
And the morning comes
Like an angel to kiss her

I will be a light in the darkness

When the anger dies
And the fear subsides
And we have subtracted
All that divides

You will be a light in the darkness

To hold you through a nightmare
I will drive you anywhere
And the look in my eyes will show how deeply I really care

We will be lights in the darkness

Like storms that will ravage
With hurricane force damage
And electricity flickers through the night
Time will be trying
But by and by will not be denying
When we see the light

I will be your light in the darkness

Don't Call It Country

I was listening to the radio
They called it country
But it sure as hell ain't David Allan Coe

I don't care if you like that shit
If ya like what you hear it don't bother me one bit

But don't call it country

It ain't so much the lyrics that bother me
That ain't really nothing new you see
Cut off shorts and drinking beer
That ain't nothing new around here
Old Bocephus has kept us high for years

But don't call it country
Don't call it country

There's just something phony in your sound
Singing about back roads you never have been down
So don't call it country

Don't call it country

It's your big drum loops
And your trailer park rap
Your new shiny boots
And your baseball cap

There's just something missing in your bubblegum sound
Singing about back roads you never have been down

So don't call it country

I don't care if you like that shit
If you like what you hear it don't bother me one bit

Just don't call it country
